A World Order

There are signs of a proverbial light at the end of the tunnel for the  mysterious coronavirus pandemic, and some amongst us are redirecting our thoughts to the increasing threat of Chinese world dominance.

This morning, I found myself moving my viewpoint.  I remembered studies of the global population rate of growth — to be more accurate, the decreasing rate of growth.  Global demographic trends indicate a serious change in world order by the 22nd century.  I know … dust to dust, etc.

Thus, perhaps, the Chinese world dominance idea needs to be rethought. There is a very obvious decline in the rate of population growth in China … certainly, if we ignore the rape of Uyghur women by Han Chinese [Sorry, I couldn’t resist that].  But, I don’t wish to focus on the human rights issue, at this moment.

A serious declining rate of population growth is well documented, not only in China, but also in Japan … and many countries globally.  There is just one exception — Islamic countries.  Muslim birth rates are exceeding forecasts by unusual numbers for religious and political reasons.

The extraordinary picture that I wish to share with you, now, is one where an Islamic muezzin can be seen screaming from the rooftops of Buddhist temples, and also from the steeples of Christian cathedrals.

Yes, a change in the world order — religious and political — that we haven’t really envisaged.

Question - Halal Meat

This is not a religious Post … not even a political one.

Really, there is, now, not much left to write about, but that was until I started to cook dinner.

The other day, the weather was cold enough to register within a single digit, but the sun was shining and I had an urge to visit the Superstore to restock my pantry in preparation for the oncoming winter.  This meant buying two of everything … and cashing in my PC Points (Customer loyalty points).

Incidentally, if you were considering a visit here, I now have more than twice as much chocolate ice cream than normal.

But I digest, because the subject deals with a surprise.  You see, I bought two packs of my favourite lamb chops.  Cutting open the Canadian plastic wrap revealed an additional plastic wrap marked Australian Lamb inside.  This didn’t seem unusual but, when washing the wrapping prior to throwing away, I noticed a small label facing inwards towards the meat.  In other words, it could not be read until both wrappings were removed.  It said:

          SOU 26971
          16284
     Authorised By Supreme Islamic
Council of Halal Meat in Australia

Surely, as I mentioned earlier, this isn’t intended to be a religious Post, but I am sufficiently disturbed to post it here.

I hope that you will be equally concerned to comment.

NEW YEAR'S WISH

Nothing Personal

That Islamic authorities who publish the Qu'ran sincerely realize that a new twenty-first century edition is urgently required, and is edited to remove all forms of hatred and terrorism, becoming a book of peace and love ... published and taught only in the official language/s of the country of its' use.

Immigration 4 - Assimilation

I’ve wanted to write this for some time.  Ever since I realized that my posts were becoming rants.

I’m a nice guy.  Really.  And I feel that I know something about fundamental Islam (I’ve lived and worked in Islamic countries).

Fortunately, I am an immigrant who became a citizen ... and I use the word ‘fortunately’, wisely.

It was easier for me to assimilate into Canadian culture, although I don’t usually like to get up on a Sunday morning and drive, half asleep, to a restaurant for ‘brunch’, eh.

But, now, I find myself frustrated by misunderstood Muslims who exacerbate the Islamic Problem.

This isn’t about hate.  Buddhism taught me that ... Christianity too.  It is about assimilation.

Let me conjure up a common scene for you:
A city center on a sunny weekend.  Any large city in Canada (This could also apply, for example, in the U.K. or the U.S.).
Imagine being able to stand in a prominent position overlooking the scene.
Now, scan the crowd and identify a French Canadian.  Possible?  No.
Ok, try to identify an Italian Canadian, a Korean Canadian, or a Mexican Canadian.  Impossible.  Right?

Now, try to identify a Muslim Canadian.  Oh, wow!  That’s easier than eating strawberry ice cream.

But it’s not about numbers.  It doesn’t matter if there are 25 or 25,000, they are identifiable, and it’s got nothing to do with religion.  The Qu’ran demands only that they should dress “modestly”.  Just like my mother, I suppose.
In my opinion, it’s about the Muslims misinterpreted belief that they are different.  That a world defined by Sharia law would be perfection.  Quiet, moderate, Muslims do not loudly decry the Islamic inspired atrocities because they are patiently ... waiting.

Actually, back in the city center, there are a few young Muslims who look like other Canadians but, unfortunately, they are too afraid to be identified by demanding that their imams teach assimilation and not contradistinction ... hopefully, in one of the two official languages.

Is it enough to just simply "hope"?

Politics 3 - Jerusalem

I wonder if the name Jerusalem is a religious or political thought in your mind.  Certainly, it is a city of religious significance, but today, politics overshadows almost all forms of religion there.  Of course, some choose to bring religion to the fore, specifically, Judaism and Islam, and one is bound to question the position of Christianity in all of this.
In this discussion, I wish to focus on the political aspect of Jerusalem.  What is Jerusalem — is it Jewish, Islamic, Christian, or all the above?  In my view it is all the above, in which case, for either one of the two present antagonists to decide its future without consultation with the others is doomed to failure.
Therefore, what is the answer?
In my opinion, there is only one answer, and I have never seen it mentioned before ... division.  At least, I have not seen it mentioned in the following way.
Now, before you look for the Comment button, please continue.
Presently, the Israelis declare, without any consultation, that Jerusalem will always be the capital of Israel.  At the same time, the Palestinians say that it should be the capital of Palestine (There shall be a Palestinian State).  It seems that the Christians will have no say in the matter.  Therefore, the situation may be described as a solid stalemate.
The answer can be seen by using the Vatican City as a model — a city state within a state.  It works perfectly.
Jerusalem must become a city state, bordered by Israel and Palestine, but governed by neither of them.  The city could be controlled (governed) by a representative group of all three religions within the population and, citizenship and security (for example) for residents could be equally state controlled within the city.  There may be a request for U.N. Peacekeepers initially because, as a religious city, citizens will not be permitted to carry arms ... amongst other things.
Finally, the capital of Israel would be Tel-Aviv and the capital of Palestine could be Ramallah, regardless of the agreed borders of the two countries.  The latter requires a separate discussion.

I wonder what you think of this idea?
