🇨🇦 Canada's Future Hope 🇨🇦

A Triad of Government Forces

I have removed this from my eMail in order to continue a serious discussion.  My point is that Mr. Trudeau must be removed from his position of decision-maker, and place our country back on the world's stage.

The removal from power (coup d’tat) would follow the actions of Security Minister Saijjan, as written in my next Best Seller, ’The Butterfly and the Tiger’ (Humour).

There being no possibility of finding a male heir, with the necessary tiger-like characteristics, anywhere in government and, thus, by studying an important temperament (or temper) of Mr. Trudeau, i.e., successful feminism, we can deduce the need for a female Triad of Government Forces, with teeth, for future success.

I feel that it is very important to remind people of the credentials of those selected candidates.

Rona Ambrose is a former Canadian politician who was interim leader of the Conservative Party and the Leader of the Opposition between 2015 and 2017.  She was the Conservative Party member of the House of Commons for Sturgeon River—Parkland between 2015 and 2017, and had previously represented Edmonton—Spruce Grove from 2004 to 2015.  In her first term as an Opposition MP, she was the Conservative Party's Intergovernmental Affairs critic. Ambrose also served as vice-chair of the Treasury Board and has held multiple cabinet positions as Canada's Minister of Health,  EnvironmentIntergovernmental Affairs, Western Economic DiversificationLabourPublic Works and Government Services, and Status of Women. She was President of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada.  She is also a former communication consultant and public policy consultant for the Alberta government.  Although it is rumoured that she may become the next Canadian Ambassador to the US, a successful return as Prime Minister should not be beyond our imagination.

Lisa Raitt  served as the Deputy Leader of the Opposition from 2017 to 2019. She was the Conservative Party deputy leader, and was the Member of Parliament for the Ontario riding of Milton from 2015 to 2019, having previously represented Halton from 2008 to 2015. She is a lawyer and professional administrator (1999–2008) turned politician (2008–2019). Raitt served in several portfolios (Minister of Natural Resources, Labour, Transport, Opposition Critic for Finance, and Deputy Party Leader) as a minister in the 28th Canadian Ministry of Stephen Harper.

Caroline Mulroney  is a Canadian-American businesswoman, lawyer and politician who is currently serving as the Ontario Minister of Transportation and Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs.  She is the elected MPP for the riding of York—Simcoe in the 2018 election as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario and was a candidate in the 2018 Ontario Progressive Conservative Party leadership election, placing third. She served as Attorney General of Ontario from 2018 to 2019.  Mulroney grew up in Ottawa, before being educated at Harvard University and the New York University School of Law.   She also served on the board of directors of the Windsor–Detroit Bridge Authority.  Although somewhat a rookie politician, her family connections and dual nationality would be extremely useful.  Perhaps, our representative at the United Nations should suit her.

Jody Wilson-Raybould  also known by her initials JWR and by her Kwak’wala name Puglaas, is a Canadian politician who serves as an Independent Member of Parliament for the British Columbia riding of Vancouver Granville. She served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada in the cabinet of Justin Trudeau from 2015 until January 2019 and then as Minister of Veterans Affairs of Canada from January 14, 2019, until resigning on February 12, 2019.  Before entering Canadian federal politics, she was a Crown Prosecutor for British Columbia, a Treaty Commissioner and Regional Chief of the B.C. Assembly of First Nations.  Although well qualified to assume a ministerial position in government, she would be especially well-suited to become our long-awaited indigenous Governor General ... in my opinion.

My position is to suggest and encourage a new party with both gentle, determined, and ambitious policies, for which the example shown could be respected both globally … and south of our border.

I feel sure that there are a few male chauvinists and not-me females that may be amused by my theory for a successful government, and let me assure you that men have not been excluded, but allow me to present the candidate's credentials, as I see them.

As usual, I seriously welcome your thoughtful views.

  1. I'm curious to know what you've been smoking.
History has already written the story for the years 2019 to 2031.
As it was for Pierre Trudeau, the anointed son will follow the same proven path.
Forget woman power, they love the curlly-haired rascal.

  2. It should go without saying that the Liberals won a minority win in the last election as a result of tactical voting, i.e., not by looking at policies. The Conservative Party’s policies do not strictly ban gay marriage or all abortions, those are simply the unfortunate views of Mr. Scheer … and he should be advised that it is not the view of all Catholics . and need not be the absolute view of the Party.

Nevertheless, there is a way to learn from the event. Firstly, without going into boring detail, there are no male members of parliament with the necessary dynamic character, e.g., Sir Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, or even Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump for that matter, who can put Canada back on the global stage … I assume that’s where we plan to be … eventually.

Equally, we are destined to suffer with minority government under the present system. A well designed public poll, that removed Party titles, will reveal that the public would ‘cherry-pick’ various policy items from each party, i.e., none of the present parties could satisfy anyone at the moment.

Independent candidates were not elected (except one) because of the need to censure Mr. Scheer, regardless of Party loyalty. But imagine a new Independent Party. A Party, able to ‘cherry-pick’ successful policies. For example, strict immigration, trade and energy, sensible education, green initiatives, and healthy indigenous requirements. That’s where my Triad of Forces presents an intelligent answer.

Rona Ambrose is a formidable politician, quite able, as her resume shows, to accomplish success as a diplomat or Prime Minister. Lisa Raitt’s experience and skills in Law and Politics, in various ministerial positions, is second-to-none. Caroline Mulroney, also an experienced international lawyer and politician, has useful dual nationality … and the networking interests of a well-known father. Jody Wilson-Raybould can be relied upon to carry her reliable character into any ministerial position including, in my opinion, the long awaited indigenous Governor General.

    Let’s make Canada admired again.

  3. I am the 'anonymous' who asked what Bernie was smoking. He may not be smoking anything and simply gone 'off his rocker'. The four women mentioned are accomplished and demonstrate gravitas compared to Trudeau, the Younger. They would solve the problem of wage disparity between women and men if they ran the country.

  4. Early Morning Comment:
How many members of Trudeau's caucus can you name ? Two or three ? Were those two or three, caucus members last year ? Fairly obvious, right ?
How many members of the Opposition can you name (Not including the Leaders) ?
Did you include a Green and Independent female members ?
Failure to vote for the 'Cherry Pickers Party' condemns you to a dull status quo.

  5. Midday Comment:
Is it probable that my "Cherry Picker Party" title was read as simply humorous ... and dismissed. That could be very unfortunate.

Imagine a hypothetical gathering of leading political decision makers. Imagine that they will all agree to giving honest answers. Now, ask them a serious question, for example, about the economy or immigration, etc. They will, each, have good or reasonable answers but will they all agree 100% to any answer. Of course the answer is 'no', and the suggestion of a compromise will cause a 'walkout'. But should there be a party governing the country that, obviously, has the confidence of the population, and has promised to compromise on every question, i.e., never says 'no', there should be little protest and, nevertheless, the country could successfully move forward ... perhaps, too slowly for some, but forward, at least.

Therefore, an Independent Concession Party should be seen as a serious, forward-looking alternative to our present system of making two-steps-forward-and-one-step-back over a period of years model. Don't you think ?

  6. Hi Bernie
I am surprised you've imagined a country with "a party governing the country that, obviously, has the confidence of the population, and has promised to compromise on every question, i.e., never says 'no',. The obvious name of that country is Narnia.
The responsibility of government is to say NO in such away that all factions of society are content.
You remember the slogan "From each according to his abilities to each according to his needs". Governments that swallowed that dream quickly became undemocratic, ie like Russia under Stalin, China under Ho.
Don't be discouraged, Bernie, develop your ideas and we'll discuss them.

  7. Oh yes, Bernie. I merely challenged your position a little bit and that's your rebuttal!
It's too bad you can't read Bob Hepburn's op-ed piece where he 'burned' Rona Ambrose, Lisa Rate and Caroline Mulroney along with assorted other potential candidates for Scheer's job. Granted, he's a Liberal writing in a Liberal paper but he does not think the Liberals need fear any of them in the next election.

  8. If it's necessary to actually know who Bob Hepburn is -- and I have no idea -- then, it appears that he, I have no doubt, has forgotten that the outcome of the last election was the consequence of tactical voting. Unashamedly, I voted Green. It would be a miracle if Mr. Scheer leads the Conservatives into the next event against Mr. 75%. And his calm indifference when mentioning Rona Ambrose (or someone else) will, obviously, cause him eventual fear ... for sure.

He has reported from more than 30 countries for the Star and has also served as the Star’s editorial page editor, assistant managing editor, national editor and foreign editor.

He said some mean things. That's it, that's all. I don't think he is shaking in his boots in fear. He's on the side of the angels.

  10. According to your details of his career, he seems a man of merit, but my brief research shows that his interest, at the moment, is in provincial politics, which for me, is something as uninteresting as a game of basketball. Perhaps he likes to say "mean things" about both sides in order to encourage readership (His 'bread-n-butter). Seems to be the Star's ubiquitous curmudgeon.
I prefer to follow just one side ... even if that's in the middle.

By the way, I notice that there are some followers reading our conversation. Don't you wish that they could send a few 'smileys' or something. 😮

  11. Oh wow! I've just realized my embarrassment in not including Michelle Rempel Garner in the extraordinary group of future members of parliament, that this Blog represents.

    1. Oh wow ! Not only was I embarrassed to not include Ms. Rempel-Garner in the group, but totally embarrassed in not even being aware of Dr. Leslyn Lewis.

I hope that my swing to the Right maintains its velocity.

  12. Don't all those passionate postings in December 2019 seem quaint in August 2020?
    We were such innocents then.

  13. There are a great number of useful comments here, including the addition of Leslyn Lewis ... and the wheel turns, now, there is Annamie Paul. NO I AM NOT A FEMINIST IN ANY WAY, but I am in favour of greater Canadian global power instead of being an adjunct lackey to the U.S. (Especially today).
